RAY MINER
author& songwriter
Ray Miner is a songwriter/singer and children’s book author who retired from public education after a 30-year career. Growing up in Robinson, Illinois, music was always a part of his life. His great uncles were musicians, in vaudeville and playing with such bands as Hagenbeck-Wallace Circus, the Houston Symphony Orchestra, and army bands in Europe. Eventually, his love of music and penchant for writing merged. He has written and recorded a number of songs, many of which can be heard on YouTube, including several from his "Old Dog, New Tricks" CD.

Besides his own releases, he has written several Christmas songs recorded by Briana Kay on the "It's Christmas" CD and a single for the Easter season, "He is Risen," by Alyssa Digges.

Miner and his wife, Donna, have two daughters. As their kids grew up, Ray often wrote poetry for them. After two of the poems were published in Bunbury Magazine in the U.K., he decided to concentrate on turning his poetry into illustrated children's books. My Wild Imagination and Bedtime are available through online booksellers. He has also published an adult fiction story, "Lemonade," which is available on Amazon Kindle.

I enjoyed reading to some of the students at Little Legends Learning Center. They enjoyed the pictures in the books and followed along with the story with excitement.
